"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style." -Maya Angelou

Alyssa’s intimate personal experience with women’s health care began with a fibroid diagnosis.  She was just a medical student at the time.  Alyssa was touched by how her myomectomy relieved her severe pain.  She wanted to do the same for other women – improve their quality of life.  She decided to become an OBGYN and ultimately completed an intensive fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.  Life during this exciting time was punctuated by infertility.

Infertility treatments, clomid, IUI, IVF, and surgeries became a way of life.  The rollercoaster of hope and grief was a painful cycle.  The most painful of which was the loss of their daughter.  Her loss was caused by a uterine rupture and need for emergency hysterectomy. Through this tragedy Alyssa has learned about gratitude and grief, survival and self-care, bravery and being vulnerable, awareness and advocacy.  She shares this with you on this site.

Her fertility story has blank chapters and an open ending waiting to be written.  Alyssa created this platform to share her fertility journey and surrogacy steps while supporting those having cloudy days and women’s health needs.  Life is truly a work in progress.   “When nothing is certain, anything is possible”.
